Collegiate's Got Talent

Calling all cougars! Join us for Collegiate’s first ever Virtual Talent Show. Wow us with your best slam dunk, show us your musical talents, or amaze us with magic tricks, original poetry, karate moves or dance routines. Tell us your best jokes, impress us with your cartwheels or introduce us to a cultural tradition. We want to see you shine! Collegiate’s Got Talent is open to students from all divisions and entry is free. One submission per student with a 90 second time limit. Submissions will be posted on a secure platform so that all members of the Collegiate community can watch, cheer and celebrate. The deadline to submit videos is April 9 so get filming!

Questions? Contact Miranda Saunders (miranda224@yahoo.com) or Sara-Ellen Snow (saraellen.snow@gmail.com).

We are excited to bring this new event to VGF and want to answer some common questions about Collegiate’s Got Talent (CGT).

Q:  Which students are eligible to participate?

A:  CGT is open to students from the Lower School, Middle School and Upper School, JK-12.  We would also love to see our administrators, faculty and staff share their talents!

Q:  How many submissions may each student send?

A:  Each student is allowed one entry.

Q:  What is the time limit per submission?

A:  Submissions may be no longer than 90 seconds. At the start of the video, each student should state his/her name (first name is fine) and grade level.

Q:  Will my child’s student account be charged?

A:  No! Participation in CGT is free.

Q:  Does a student need to perform alone or may a group perform together?

A:  Keeping in line with Collegiate School COVID protocol, we are recommending that students submit a video alone or with siblings, parents and/or pets who live under the same roof. Should a group of friends wish to create a video, students must be sure to follow School COVID policies including maintaining a distance of 6 feet between individuals and wearing masks.

Q:  What qualifies as a talent?

A:  The sky is truly the limit. Suggestions include singing, dancing, instrumental performance, hula hooping, jump roping, gymnastics, martial arts, athletic skill (shooting hoops, soccer footwork skills, skateboarding tricks, etc.), magic tricks, sharing jokes/comedy, reading a poem or sharing an original work, juggling, pet tricks, sidewalk chalk art, beatboxing, yo-yo tricks, ventriloquism and more! This list is by no means all-inclusive and we cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Q:  What is the deadline for submissions?

A:  All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 9.  Late submissions cannot be accepted and no exceptions will be made.

Q:  How do I participate?

A:   Step 1:  Register using this Google Form. You must complete the Google Form for each child who plans to submit an entry.  Click HERE to submit your entry.

Step 2:  Record your talent using a phone or tablet. Remember, 90 seconds is the limit!

Step 3:  Submit your video to the following: tcs.paVGFtalent@gmail.com.

Q:  Who will be able to watch CGT?

A:  The videos will be uploaded to a secure platform that all Collegiate community members will be able to access during VGF weekend.

Q:  Will there be prizes?

A:   In the spirit of celebrating all of our students and their talents, no prizes will be awarded.

Q:  Anything else?

A:  Contact Miranda Saunders or Sara-Ellen Snow with additional questions.
